Dr. Jerome Wagner, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist and consultant in private practice Click Here to contact him), and is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology and the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University, Chicago.
Introduced to the Enneagram system in 1971, Dr. Wagner was among the earliest students of the Enneagram in the United States. His dissertation was one of the first written descriptions of this personality typology and pioneered formal research studies on the Enneagram.
Part of his study involved constructing an Enneagram inventory. The current version and Manual of his highly researched and statistically validated Wagner Enneagram Personality Style Scales (WEPSS) is available from Western Psychological Services ( 800-648-8857) and can now be taken online on this website. Because of its standardization, reliability, validity and other psychometric properties, the WEPSS is the only Enneagram inventory reviewed in Buros's Mental Measurements Yearbook (15th edition), a recognized appraiser in the testing field.
Dr. Wagner is the author of Nine Lenses on the World: the Enneagram Perspective and The Enneagram Spectrum of Personality Styles: an Introductory Guide. Since 1980 Jerry has taught a graduate level course on the Enneagram in the Institute of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University, Chicago. He began the Enneagram Spectrum Training and Certification Program there in 1995 and has since given Trainings throughout the United States and in Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
He has offered Enneagram workshops for therapists, coaches, spiritual directors, educators, businesses, and personal growth audiences. Jerry has been an invited speaker at all of the International Enneagram Association (IEA) Conferences and has presented the Enneagram at American Psychological Association, Illinois Psychological Association, and American Counseling Association conferences.
Jerry has served on the Board of Directors of the IEA, has been the editor of the IEA's NinePoints Bulletin, is currently the co-editor of The Enneagram Journal, and has published numerous articles in the Enneagram Monthly and NinePoints Bulletin. For his early and continuing contributions to the Enneagram community, Jerry was honored by being named a Founder of the International Enneagram Association. He was the keynote speaker for the 2010 IEA Conference.
